REEV releases NFT art from Kibera, one of Kenya's largest slums, listed at about 4 million yen
REEV Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yusuke Watanabe), an esports trading company that runs Gaming English lessons and aims to solve social issues through esports, has turned art drawn by pro gamer BEAST (BRIAN "THE BEAST" DIANG'A), who was born in Kibera, one of the largest slums in Kenya, into an NFT and listed it for sale on the NFT marketplace OpenSea.

Introduction
REEV Inc., which planned this project, is an esports trading company founded to solve social issues around the world through education, technology and entertainment businesses connected to esports. We started the #KiberaNFTProject because we want to remove the unequal opportunities that come from where and how people are born, and give everyone a chance to take on challenges.
How the project began
Since August 2021, REEV has run the #AfricaITEducationProject in Kibera (https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000001.000083031.html). In Kibera and other low-income areas, we want more children who can create their own future, rather than depending only on donations and material aid.
This project was made possible with the help of BEAST, to show children how to express their talents and ideas to the world, and the joy and possibilities that come with it.

What is an NFT?
NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token: a token that can represent ownership of a unique item that cannot be exchanged for an identical one.
Web content and art used to be easy to copy and could be passed on freely, without any benefit to the creator. With NFTs, the current owner can be traced, and the creator can receive revenue even from resales on the secondary market.
What is OpenSea?
OpenSea, launched in New York in December 2017, is one of the world's largest NFT marketplaces. Its trading volume reached about 360 billion yen (about 3.3 billion US dollars) in August 2021.

How the proceeds are used
All proceeds, minus OpenSea fees, will be used to buy PCs needed for the #AfricaITEducationProject, to reward BEAST, and to fund activities (IT education) that build Kibera's future.
